Summary

Many countries view results-based payments as the principle mechanism that will provide "positive incentives" for REDD+ results-based actions. This report summarizes some of the US government's experience with results-based finance domestically and in foreign aid, drawing lessons for REDD+. It also summarizes the US government's experiences with results-based finance for REDD+ and concludes by identifying some challenges to the US government providing additional support for results-based finance for REDD+ abroad.
