Ethiopian forest resources: current status and future management options in view of access to carbon finances

Summary

The main purpose of this review paper is to appraise current knowledge on forest resource base, forest resources management status, and to explore options for
promoting multiple objectives forest management through the intermarriage of innovative forest management approaches and emerging carbon finances. This review emphasises the need for a paradigm shift from classical forest management to a new forest management approach in Ethiopia that includes objectives such as the management of forest carbon stocks and carbon trading.
