Summary

There are many imperatives pushing Ghana towards more sustainable forest and land management practices, although the emerging REDD+ market may offer opportunities to generate international finance from reforms and to benefit from significant capacity building. Ghana’s forests have been a key resource in the country’s historical development (FCoG, 2010a) and they will continue to be relied upon as the country pursues growth and poverty reduction objectives.
