A number of developed, or Annex I, countries (and states within them) have created domestic regulatory systems to meet national (or subnational) greenhouse gas mitigation objectives.  Several include incentives for the domestic forestry sector (e.g. Australia’s Carbon Farming Initiative and California’s AB32). California may also consider incentives for international forests under its sectoral offset provisions.
