Gender and Uganda's REDD+ road map

Summary

REDD+ initiatives pose many potential challenges while offering many potential benefits for local communities, specifically women. As such, Uganda has worked with IUCN to ensure that their REDD+ initiatives include a gender perspective and act to empower local communities while conserving essential forests. This publication reports the outcomes of workshops for multiple stakeholders including women’s organisations which form the basis of this roadmap to support mainstreaming of gender in REDD+ processes in Uganda.
