Summary

The Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) Ethiopia office conducts research on forest, and dry-land management in Ethiopia. CIFOR in Ethiopia has been particularly active in providing research and advice for policy, legal formulation and institutional requirements for the forestry sector. CIFOR was not very active during the initial stages of REDD+ planning and the R-PP, but it has started to become more involved since early 2013. CIFOR is expected to provide expertise and research support for the policy and institutional requirements for REDD+ in Ethiopia and to have a role in the implementation of the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Roadmap.
