Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry

A term created by the UNFCCC at the Marrakesh Accords, it is used in national greenhouse gas inventories and describes a group of human activities which contribute substantially to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions such as the conversion of forest into agricultural land. This category has been now combined with the agriculture category to form AFOLU.
