Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project

Summary

Wildlife Alliance is implementing the Southern Cardamom REDD+ project in in collaboration with the Forestry Administration and the Office National des Forets (ONF) International. The project is being implemented over 465,839 ha. The aim of the project is to build a sustainable long-term project to reduce deforestation while providing alternative livelihoods and revenues to local people and local stakeholders, and to extend activities to the surrounding threatened areas and directly address the drivers of deforestation. It is expected that project design documents will be submitted for validation by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Climate Community and Biodiversity (CCB) Standard.
