Conservation International (Peru)
CI is an international, non-profit environmental organisation that seeks the participation of society in the conservation of the services that are provided by nature and that are the basis of human welfare. It began working in Peru in 1989 to contribute to Peru's recognition that its mega-biological and cultural diversity is a core asset and should form the basis of the country's development policies.
CI-Peru contributes to the development of national environmental policies based on its experience from initiatives in the regions of Madre de Dios and San Martin. Specifically in the San Martin Region, CI-Peru has been working with the regional government to develop and implement social and environmental safeguards through the REDD+ Social and Environmental Standards (REDD+ SES) initiative.
